A PSYCHOLOGICAL RESOURCE FOR WISE MINISTRY

This website is dedicated to healing and renewing the Church by understanding the psychological processes that shape Church life.  I’m a clinical psychologist and an ordained United Church of Christ minister.  For 38 years as Minister of Counseling at St. Peter’s UCC in Elmhurst, Illinois, I provided psychotherapy for pastors and parishioners from many congregations and denominations.  I’ve written extensively about the underlying psychological forces that shape congregational life–for the good and not so good.   This new website is an evolving resource for pastors, lay members, denominational leaders, pastoral counselors, chaplains, and others who work faithfully within the church.  I hope you visit frequently, because I will always be adding new material.  I welcome your comments and promise to respond.

CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Randall! On a very impressive blog site and materials that truly address the practical concerns of pastors and parishioners using the latest in cognitive and evolutionary psychology.

THE THINKING MINISTRY OF JESUS is an excellent reading for the leader of any group. Provides insights helping all members, including the leader, to “face their fears” and move on.
